This unique ski circuit offers you breath-taking views of the astonishing mountain range that is the Dolomites and will take you across four Dolomite passes: The Campolongo Pass, the Pordoi Pass, the Sella Pass and the Gardena Pass. If you are a reasonably competent skier with some degree of fitness, the Sellaronda will be ideal for you.

If you like a bit more of a sporting challenge, several destinations are on offer for a worthwhile detour. Please note: If you intend to tackle the entire Sellaronda, you will need to make a start before 10 am in order to be able to return to your point of departure before the lifts close for the day.

A special highlight for ski enthusiasts is the yearly Sellaronda Ski Marathon where participants will complete the circuit at night.

All skiers wanting to do this must sign in with transceivers at the top and be equipped with all other avalanche gear. All pizzas are traditionally made in their wood fired oven and served with great wine. Rifugio Salei Val di Fassa : Excellent pizzas and their Kaiserschmarm traditional sweet pancake dish is famous throughout the region.

On most slopes the road is well signed, but sometimes it is not, and then it is easy to take a wrong turn. On the green route, there is a sign that tells you to take a small drag lift in the Valley of Selva, under the Dantercepies lift. We took it, but then found out we actually had to turn left just before that small drag lift, just under the Dantercepies lift, into the centre of Selva, where you have to cross the road towards the Ciampinoi lift.

But the left turn was not indicated with any sign. We had to ask one of the lift handlers who was obviously bored with again a tourist asking the way… And if a slope is suddenly closed for whatever reason, it can be really hard to find the right way. This is how we ended up in the valley of San Cristina last year on the orange route.
